My favorite hunting hat is a wool fadora I got at Cracker Barrel for 20 bucks. I don't see how one that cost 5-10 times more would work any better. Keeps my head warm until it gets real cold and keeps the rain off the back of my neck, unlike a baseball syle hat. And like was said before the soft brim doesn't interfere with my bowstring.

I just bought one of these and waiting for it's delivery.  www.stormykromer.com   It is the original Storrmy kromer and it is suppossed to have a small bill to protect eyes. Not sure about keeping the rain off the neck, but we do not get a lot of rain

A boonie hat works well and they are cheap.  The bil is uniform all the way around so if you turn your head it doesn't change your profile as much. The bill is also cloth so when you draw it will fold up and won't interfere with your string.

I have to second Noggintops.com. I bought a fedora from them 8yrs. ago and it's the best hat I've ever had. I've never experienced a problem with the brim interfering with the string.(nut)

I really like the Jones style hat.  I can draw and the brim doesn't get in the way.  LL Bean has a good one.
