I might need help from fellow Tradgangers living in the US. I have been bitten by the collector bug and sometimes sellers on «the auction site» won't ship to Canada. They could with no problem using USPS, but for some reason many think it's impossible or too complicated. So I figured that if I found an address in the US not too far from Montreal, I could just drive and pick up my new/old bow. Any suggestions?

Must just be you guys in Quebec they don't trust!  :biglaugh:  Ha Ha, don't take that personal Simone! I know what you are saying but USPS ships bows to Ontario and so does Fed Ex and UPS. It will cost you more but overnight Fed Ex will guarantee you get it and it's gotta be cheaper than driving across the line, unless of coarse your just a couple blocks away.

Well, if someone from, say, Plattsburgh NY could become my US buddy, It would just take a quick hour to get there from Montreal. I can even smuggle some maple syrup in...

USPS is the only way to go IMO. UPS and FedEx cost more and charges a prohibitive import fee ; busts my budget every time.

For those wanting to ship a bow to Canada, USPS Priority Mail International is the way to go. The maximum length and girth combined can go up to 108" total. Enough for any bow...

I offered that service up for JeanPaul who lives just north of me in Manitoba. Come on guys, someone can step up and help out a fellow bowhunter. Chickenman

Thanks ND. Nothing urgent. I am thinking in the long run. But I never know when I'll come down with the vintage bow fever...   :p

Hummmm

I don't live there but I do have a camp not far from the boarder. Sometimes I need an excuse to go check on the place....

How's the moose hunting up there?    :goldtooth:

Have not seen any moose nor deer yet this season. I am going for deer next Friday just north of the Vermont border near Sutton, Quebec.

I would like to bid on a 1967 Kodiak Hunter but the seller won't ship to Canada. I told him there were no problems shipping to Canada but still refuses to see the light...

This is what he wrote back : «It's considered a "weapon" in some places and I'm not familiar with Canadian laws and I will not ship across the boarder. Sorry.»

What can a guy do?

Simon
