Saw the biggest 10pt I have ever seen on Sat. evening. When the choice of direction came he chose to go the other way while still to far for a shot, fun to watch though took a while for the heart rate to come down. Then tonight I snuck up on three does but couldn't close the distance before they wandered off. Then before I could get moving again I heard fast footsteps to my left. I crouched down and here comes a nice non-typical. Four points on one side and 2 8-10" spikes on the other. He got to 3 yards... 3YARDS!!!! But he wouldn't give me anything but his chest head-on and I won't take that shot. About then he decided he didn't like the looks of the primate with the hammering heart huddled in front him and he backed off about ten yards. That of course is when he gave me a look at his ribcage but it was through a screen of brush so again no go. When he got tired of stomping and snorting at me he ambled back the way he had come. Later I watched a big bodied six point chase three does back and forth through the timber for about 20 minutes but they where about 60-70 yards off. No venison in the freezer yet, but man what a fun weekend!

"After we've lost a natural place, it's gone for eveyone-hikers, campers, boaters, bicyclists, animal watchers, fishers, hunters, and wildlife-a complete and absolutely democratic tragedy of emptiness."  Richard Nelson
