I am wondering that when you make a longbow - should the top portion of the handle be symetrical with the bottom?  Does it need to be?

It's all how the shooter wants it.  Not all of mine are symetrical.  On some, the fade goes to the shlf on the top limb and but the fades are steeper/shorter on the lower limb.  It can make the tiller look off, but then if you measure it it isn't.  It's all the preference of the person making it or shooting it.
