Anyone have pictures of their bear paw takedown longbow.  Their website doesn't show the whole bow put together. Thanks guys!

There are quite a few bowyers whose websites don't show their bow(s) strung. That is one of my pet peeves since I want to see the entire bow strung. If I'm going to spend a considerable amount of money on a custom bow, I want to see it fully strung, not just the handle section. I find a fully strung bow lets me see it's graceful lines and that makes it asthetically appealing to me to shell out the money to purchase it.

This is a picture of the Bears Paw Bow I received yesterday from fellow TradGanger Doug McCoy. It is a little older model but I think they still basically look the same. I have to say I really like this bow!!! The second picture is of the 1st 5 shot group I shot out of the bow at 17 yds.

To me, the ultimate challenge in bowhunting is not how far away you can succesfully make a killing shot but rather how close you can get to the animal before shooting.

I just bought one used that is 70#@28 and a take down longbow. I took a chance and bought it on e-bay and hope it is a shooter. No one really bid on it so I got it for a song as I am in no way able to justify a new one with two little mouths to feed. Wish me luck that it is worth what I paid. My heaviest bow is a 55#@28 hickory self bow with some hand shock. Will I be able to draw this baby?

Patrick: Not easily, dont try to rush into it too quickly. Shoot your 55# a LOT and shoot the 70# every few days. Before too long you should be able to handle it.

Just an FYI I have had droptine59 do some "weight reduction" work on a few bows of mine. Drop him a PM if you are interested. The work he did for me was fantastic!!

I got 2 take down long bows from Niel, I will try to get a picture of them tomorrow and post it for you.

Here is a copy of my new Bear's Paw.  Though since I received this one I have gotten a new set of limbs for it.

I guess if we run into the bear that is making these tracks, we oughta just get off the trail.......He seems to like it!

This is it and what a great shooter. Its a hard draw for me but have been able to pull it back to my anchor and get off accurate shots. What a beast this baby is. Super fast and smooth. WOW!

Put it on the bow scale and it weighed in at 79# at my draw of just under 29"
I am getting used to it as I shoot 30 arrows from it at one sitting before I got tired. Just have to keep at it and the stamina will come.
