BEN

Went out this morning to hunt a swampy bottom  on private property that the landowner said I really need to hunt---"deer in there every day"
About 8am, a large doe comes down the side of the ridge down into the bottom and starts heading my way. little closer...........little closer.....then about 12 yds away, she stops and beds down on my left side! I'm like " OH no, not there!!"
I'm left handed and had picked my tree precisely because the brush on the left should cover me until a deer is in range. Well, she was in range all right but all I could see was her eyeball. she chewed her cud and laid ther about an hour, then she got up and went right back out the way she came. I did have a shot broadside when she was going back up the ridge, but it was pushing 30 yds and just didn't feel right.
A second doe somes along from the same direction about 10 minutes later but she catches me stretching my legs.    :bigsmyl:

No deer on the ground but sounds like you had fun and a exciting hunt.
Live every day like its your last, one day you'll be right.

BEN

Fun it was.     Gonna try the spot tomorrow morning. Debating on setting up on the ground in the bottom where she bedded, or climbing the tree where she came down.
Kinda depends on the wind too.

Saw a doe this morning  in heavy brush in the fog about 40yds out in a different spot. Not seeing any bucks though, not for about the last 2 weeks.

Guess I should have put the story down here instead of editing my previous post like that. Oh well, I'm still excited!!!   :bigsmyl:

Plenty of excitement to go around! i still get excited at every doe I shoot even with a  gun; so you can imagine what I'm like now.
