I have been wanting to make some pine arrow shafts for quite a while but haven't been able to get good quality  straight grained wood. I finally got some and was surprised with the outcome. The arrows were a little on the lite side (37# - 44#)for 11/32 but they were very consistent a 7# weight range for 21 shafts is pretty good. The cost was about $8.00 less than .40 per shaft.

Way to go! If those arrows are a little light for you, you can build out your sideplate a little to make them fly right. Post some pics when you get them done.

Interested in how durable they prove to be. The price is right for sure!

Jawge makes them out pine all the time. He barrel tapers them and sands as needed to get the spine he wants.

The big Buck I posted a pic of last week was shot with a Pine shaft.  They were the first I have made as well, so far I have shot two deer with them this past week or so and I have to say I have been impressed, they were a little harder to straighten though I thought.
Luck has nothing to do with it, just Boot leather and a GWP.

I think next time I'll go with 23/64 that should get me closer to the weight I want. As for these I'll just have to get a bow to shoot them!
