Get yourself one of those G5 sharpening tools!
I can get them sharp with a file, stones and strop but it's slow and it took a long time to figure it all out. I have one of the 3Rivers tools that are like this but can't get these results with it. I haven't tried their new one that is made for 3 blade heads yet though, it might work just as well.

I bought one these G5 tools in the classifieds here and finally got around to using it. I can shave with it right out of the tool, give it 2-3 strokes each side on a polishing stone and 1/2 dozen on a strop on they pop hairs.

Way faster and easier than my other methods.
The secret still is very very light strokes after you have done a few heavy ones.
Time is a great teacher, but unfortunately it kills all its pupils.

Mike, if you get up this way your gonna have to give me a lesson as I struggle with sharpening them! In fact thats the main reason I use 2 blades most of the time.

I almost called you to come up tonight but is was a hair late to drive up there by the time I got off. I'm going hunting at 4:00pm tomorrow if your up for a romp in the woods sometime before that shoot me a PM or a call at the hotel.

Mike, I appreciate the offer but the young one has a baseball double header starting at 3:00 so I'm just going to make a quick morning hunt behind the garrage!

No biggie...I'll be here for an other week or two at least.

QuoteI just sharpened some using Charlie Lambs method, shaving sharp. Check out his video.
Seen it before but I could never get them as sharp as I like doing it that way. You can get them sharp like that where it's a rough burr(which is good enough to hunt with) but it won't pop hairs.
