What is the best pen etc to use when writing on a bow? Such as a bowyer signing the bow.

The best IMO is from Faber Castell.  It is a Pitt Artist Pen.  The pen contains India Ink and comes in a variety of tip sizes.  I like the superfine tip.  $2.99 at Hobby Lobby.

I have used a Sharpie in the past but now use India ink with a quill pen.     Pat

I like the artist pen, also...so long as my wife is the one writing it! I am a bit challenged when it comes to handwriting...

Thanks guys, I tried the extra fine Sharpie, but if was not very dark. I had to go over it twice.

Sharpies will also fade over time. Thats why I went with India ink.     Pat

I really like Gelly Roll pens in silver or gold with the medium tip. Did a search on line and bought a dozen each for reasonable money.

If you have an artist supply store or drafting supply nearby try the "Rapidoliner" pens. Reasonably priced, in any tip size you'd want, and the ink doesn't fade or disappear under finish.
