I have been using the Bohning classic nocks for my wood arrows, but I have noticed the string tightness is not consistent between nocks. When I do seem to have a few arrows that are close in tightness, after shooting them for a little while, some of the nocks seem to loosen up to the point of being dangerous, but not all.

Is this a common thing? Are there any other nocks for wood arrows that provide a better snap and are more consistent? I hate having to heat them up and set the gap on the nocks over and over.

Never heard of that issue before with Bohning nocks, but you might try Bohning T nocks or Marco snap nocks because the ears are thicker and snap onto the string tighter if that is what you are looking for.  dino
"The most demanding thing you can ask of a piece of wood is for it to become an arrow shaft. You reduce it to the smallest of dimension yet ask it to remain it's strongest, straightest and most durable." Bill Sweetland

If your nocks loosen up over time, I suspect they are too tight to start with. I go through 1000s of Bohning classics a year and have never found any inconsistency. Nock fit should just hold the weight of the arrow when attached to the string. A slight bump of the string should jar it loose.

I second what Bob says , Classic nocks are about as good as it gets, we go through thousands and have never seen the issues you have . Think thats bad go back about ten years ago to the old Mercury nock, thankfully a new company set that straight.

They are not too tight to start with. They will hang off the string and a slight string disturbance will allow them to be released. Are the T nocks and the Marco nocks made from a "harder" plastic?
