I'm going to try and post pics of my daughters Deermaster recurve with the elk antler limb bolts that I put on it.

I didn't polish them. I kinda liked the natural look.

I thought of doing something like this, but not sure how.  Yours look good.

Do these fit over the regular bolts and pop off, or are they the top of the bolt.  How do you tighten them with an allen wrench or do you just hand-tighten?

Well Dave, I haven't gotten my daughter to shoot it yet, so it is yet to be seen how well they hold up to shooting stress. But what I did was to use a dremel like tool to get a good fit over the bolt and the metal part the bolt goes into so the antler was a flush as poss. to the limb. Then I cut a screw to fit in a hole that I drilled with a drill press into the antler. I then used two part epoxy to glue the screw into the antler and the limb bolt. I don't plan to change limbs so I'm not concerned about being able to take the bolts out. However, I think it is sturdy enough to do so on occasion. Besides, it is only a $200 bow.

Did you make these elk antler limb bolts yourself or buy them? If you bought them where did you and how much?

Jim, I bought the antler burrs sometime ago and made them into the limb bolts. There is someone on this site who makes beautiful limb bolts with animal track designs on them. I think his avitar says "stickshooter".

Thanks! After Cloverdale I'm going to try my hand at putting snake skins on this bow. That will really dress it up! I found a very good "how-to" thread.
