Hi, I was shooting my longbow this weekend and I must of banged it on something because now I have a tiny1/4chip in the clear glass on the edge of the top limb about 7in.down from the tip.Any suggestions??

I'm sure one of the knowledgeable bowyers will chip in on this, but I've found that a VERY thin cyano-acrylate glue will flow into the area and fill it well. If the chip is strictly in the finish, a careful application of spar varnish (my favorite) or Tru-Oil will seal up the spot. a careful sanding/blending of the edges will make the spot not as noticeable.

I just got my first scratch on my new Whisperstik and used thinned spar varnish with great results. I have to look closely to see where the surface is a little shinier.

I have a small chip in the glass on one of my bows and have thought about using clear epoxy but have not done it yet.  The resin in the glass is epoxy so I think it would work great.

I am not a big fan of (CA) glue.  I think it is not very strong and can react with other materials.
