Easton stalkers 2216

Hello all I bought some black stalkers 2216 3 rivers has a nice deal running on them and am wondering if all 2216 get bent that easily or if it's just the black stalkers.i had been using xx75 2020s and have really beat em up stumping and had only had one of 12 mushroom at the tip(hit a tree) lost about half of em and bent one. I've only been shooting traditional a little over a year and those are the only two spines I've use and was wondering if 2020s are just tough as hell or if 2216s just aren't very durable.ive bent 6 of the 24 just shooting at a target bag. Anyway any info would be appreciated either way I'm going back to the 2020s for sure

It has been my experience that 2020 are much tougher than 2216.

The way Easton measures there Aluminum shafts is;

First two numbers is the diameter 64ths of an inch

Second two numbers is wall thickness in thousands.

So 22 = 22/64 or .3838"

16 = .016"

2020s are probably the toughest Easton aluminum arrow.Thats why I shot them when I was shooting heavier bows.Cant believe they stopped making them.With the small diameter and thick wall and higher grain weight they made an awesome hunting arrow.

You might need to be a little more careful with the 2216s as far as torcher testing them.

NO it is because they are stalkers - they are a different alloy. The stalkers are 6105 alloy, whereas the camo hunters/autumn orange or XX75 are 7075-T9 alloy. The stalkers are softer. The 2216 is a TOUGH arrow in XX75 VARIETY - I shoot a lot of older aluminum and come across Stalkers occasionally. They bend easier and if you bang arrows in the target together, they dent easily.

I would recommend that you don't ever buy anything less than XX75 alloy if you're hunting or shooting out in the woods.  I bought some stalkers years ago and they were absolute junk.  They bend very easily.  I always shoot XX75's or XX78's if I can find them.  I have a lot of new-old-stock Gamegetters as well, which are quite old-school, and I believe are a step below XX75.  They bend more easily than the XX75, but are better than the stalkers.  I only shoot aluminums, and have many XX75's (various sizes) that I've been shooting and re-fletching for years.  But those stalkers didn't even last a few weeks.

I know what you mean I've had them less then two months and have already bent 6 so bad I couldn't even get them close to proper shape by hand and quite a few more that are messed up but still shootable. I guess I see why they were $30 for 12 shafts.

The original Stalkers were advertised as “one shot” arrows for hunting when finding your arrow that passed through or you missed wasn’t easy to find. No great loss like a XX75 shaft. I remember my brother in law bought a dozen for his first ever shoot. By the last target he was down to 2 arrows and using rocks to try and straighten them.

That's how I use my game getters. I keep my boat quiver full of them with broadheads, but I don't use those arrows to practice. I figure that my hunting arrows are more likely to be busted, bent or lost, so I use the xx75s for casual use.
