Yesterday I spoke to a neighbor and family friend and ended up leaving with two turkey wings from a Spring kill.  Not being one who likes to waste anything(keeping the wing feathers), I decided to try my hand at a wing bone yelper.  This is what I ended up with:

They have not been "prettied" up yet, and not sure how I will.  One is going to go to the neighbors son (for giving me the feathers).  The other will end upon the St Jude auction.  Will not be fancy or even purdy but I think some one will see the beauty and mojo of helping the kids out.

For those who have not tried, and like to make things... try one of these.  It is simple and very fun.  Some say it takes 2-3 hours over a few days, but I boiled/bleached mine and epoxied them together in about an hour and half.  I used an air gun attached to the compressor to speed up the drying    :D  .  I used a dremel to clean out the large bone and a belt sander to help fit them together.  Once fitted to my liking, I mixed a little 5 minute epoxy and put them together.  A few minutes later I was make nice yelps out of them

If I get a chance and have a free hand I will post a "the red neck way: of making wing bone yelpers."   For those not wanting to wait for my turtle slow pace, there is a build-along in the "How to Resources" forum.

Take care

Its not about the weapon used, its about the adventure involved.

Here is what I have completed so far:

I have it up for the St Jude's auction, so stop drooling her here and go bid high for the kids!

Thanks for looking
