Does this make sense.  I have a L/B that pulls 55lbs at my 27" draw w/FF string and I just shot some 28.75" 2117 shafts w/200grn points and they fly awsome w/BH's and FP's.  I tried a bare shaft and flight showed way stiff.  Whats the deal?  I can't figure out this bareshafting thing and the more I try and bareshaft the more problems I have.

Not to ruffle any feathers (no pun intended)but I recently talked to a prominent arrowsmith(a sponsor here) for some guidance and he told me the bareshaft method is a waste of time and creates more problems than its worth.  He told me just try a bunch of different fletched shafts and see what flies the best.  I am beginning to think this is the way to go for me.  Any thoughts or opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

There is at least as much Art to this game as there is Science. Do what works for you.

Some of my bows won't bare shaft well, but shoot broadheads just fine.  If I see the shaft kicking I will try to tune it bare shafting.  If everything looks good except bare shafting, I call it good and hunt.

I had alot of trouble bareshafting when I started fingers.  Looking back it was defintely my release.  Bareshaft does not work well with a sloppy release or a bowarm that moves at the shot.

Another thing to look  for is to see how consistently the arrow hits.  If your consistently hitting to the right, then you know its probably a little weak.  Also I shoot 35 yards and really pay attention to the arrow in flight.

For most of my bows, in the 55lb draw area, your arrow is too stiff with 125g tips.  I have much better luck with 2018's with 125's, but with 200gr tip, it sounds about right.

But go with whatever you have confidense in.
