First tri-lam questions.

Here is my first bamboo backed/action boo/Ipe tri-lam.  I glued in 2 1/2" of reflex expecting it to relax more out of the form.  My BBI went from 2 1/2" reflex to only 1" out of the form.  This one retained 2" of reflex!  The action boo core tapers to 1/8", the boo backing is around 1/8", and the ipe tapers to about 3/16".  It looks like it will pull 100#!  I think I have quite a bit of wood removal, but want to retain ipe on the belly.  Some have said that the ipe can't get too thin or it will fail?  The blank measures 65" overall.  I laminated 6 thin pieces for the handle and have made the fadeouts about three inches long and thin instead of using a power lam.  Right now the tips are 1/2" wide, but I may have to make them narrower to keep some ipe on the belly.  I don't want to glue on my tip overlays until I'm a little closer to final profile.  I'm looking for 50@27.  Any ideas?

Well at first look I'd say you would have hit weight pretty close if you had left the core lam out.  Ipe is very dense and will yield a lot of weight with not much wood.

I'd start removing wood from the belly, slowly and keep bending it.  You should hit a great tiller somewhere down the line.

This one is just under an inch wide at the fades. I have narrowed the limbs in a pretty straight line taper to 7/16, or slightly smaller tips. I started to floor tiller, couldn't get any movement, then started taking wood off the belly. I have the belly down to a little over 1/8" or so and she is bending. I have my tip overlays curing now. Tonight I will dress the tips some and get a long string on her. Will I ruin this one if I run out of ipe when removing belly wood? Will she hold up if my ipe feathers away into the boo core? The core lam is action boo. Looks like vertically laminated bamboo flooring to me. I will post some photos. Thanks for the replies so far.
