I did this bow  out of red oak and I was using mickey's board bow build along as a guide.

The bow is 72" t2t 70" n2n... it's 53#@24.5" I don't have any right spine arrows to tune it, but my 2016's seem to work good for now. I was going to back it, but it looks really nice so I just used tru-oil as a finish....

Sal, great job!    :clapper:    I hope to be able to attempt one some day. I'm just a little too tied up with the little ones for now.    ;)

Looks good, Sal!

We won't be able to work on Lee's bow tonight - I forgot that today is Jen's birthday. But if you want to pick up your backing so you can finish up your bow, let me know.

Well I got Good News & Bad News.... No the bow didn't brake....

I went out in to the woods looking for a nice stump, Not the wood'n kind but The Whistling kind.. Here in Jersey Ground hog season is going on.... So I grabbed a arrow & Big Red (LOL... Bow Name....LOL) & took a walk. I was standing in my ground blind and saw movement... I dropped down thinking it was a deer.. This big old monster of a ground hog  comes walking about 10 yards away from me. I drew as I was getting up... came to ancher..... Loosed a arrow... Bammmm the arrow hits him broadside, rolling him over & back on his feet at a dead run for cover... I didn't hear anything so I started to look for signs.. All I saw was a trail to a rock row where it stopped. I walked down both sides looking for anything to tell me if he came by... I didn't even see any holes that he could go in to...On the other side of the rock row about 100 yards was a home of (Bad Words) people, anyway.

As You can tell the bad news is I didn't fine him, But I know them hogz are very tuff game when it comes to arrows...

Nice Job Sal. Looks good.

Looks like Big Red is a keeper. Nice first bow, very nice tiller.

Good job!  What kind of point were you using on the "hog".
I didn't claw my way to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables!

Even if it were hit with a broadhead, which it should be, I would expect it to run some.  I've nailed them with 50 caliber muzzleloader slugs (pure lead) and had them run to the hole.  Tuff critters.
Pretty bow, by the way.  My first attempts were red oak board bows and they are fun to shoot.

**DONOTDELETE**

I used a 160grn Snuffer 3-blade... I have had them dive in their hole after being hit with a 12 gage
