I have been looking for some new hunting clothes for this fall and I have looked at the Under Armour derecho fleece in person. It is wind and waterproof,it seems warm, quiet and should be bur resistant. I have not been able to look at the Sitka gear 90%,the stores in my location don't carry it, but have heard good things about it. So if someone has experience with these clothes please chime in.

I purchased the mountain tee shirt and pants, have not had much opportunity to put them to the test as I bought them after elk season. Wanted something versitile and not so darn hot when its warm. I like the pattern its an open style.
So far the use I have with turkeys has been positve I believe its good stuff, and will ware well.

Hey RLA,

My name is Peter Iacavazzi and I am the pro staff director for Sitka Gear.
I can't say much about the Under Armour clothing but I can tell you without hesitation that the 90% Sitka Gear is excellent and I would recommend you give it a try. Sitka Gear has in many ways taken the camo/hunting market by storm. The Sitka Gear 90% is warm, comfortable, water resistant, wind resistant and extremely functional. I would suggest you do a search on this site and read some of the feedback and commentary regarding the Sitka Gear.

Please feel free to contact me at anytime with questions and/or concerns.

I have the 90% jacket and it is definitely comfortable and functional.  Haven't had a chance to check the water resistance yet.  It does ok in the wind but I definitely would not consider it cold weather gear.  It is ok for cool mornings and evenings.

Oh yeah, as far as UA cold gear I just have the long johns and mock tee and they are a great base layer in the cold.

I own Sitka Gear base layers, mountain shirts and pants, and the 90% shirts and pants and I believe it is the best system of stuff available.  Quiet, well-designed, great camo, etc.  The 90% stuff is darn near waterproof in anything but a downpour.  I coach track and wear it in inclement weather all the time.  Excellent stuff.

The 2008 line has been further beefed up (not yet available, but soon) with a Celsius line of cold-weather gear.

Thanks for the info. With the 2008 line not yet available and deer season along way off, I geuss I should wait to make a decision. It seems that most everyone is happy with the Sitka Gear so I may go that route. King of the Mountain wool is vary warm but I hate pulling burs off for five minutes after every trip to the woods.

Does it come in tall sizes??
