Big Jim Buffalo...2 piece or 3 piece?

I'm trying to decide between a 2 or 3 piece Big Jim Buffalo longbow. I'll be using it mostly for 3d and would like to something with a little more mass weight in the riser, but like the look of the 2 piece. Does anyone have experience with both and is there enough weight difference to warrant getting the 3 piece bow? Thanks.

I don't know how important this is to you, but there are some longbow events that require either a one piece or two piece longbow.  For example, I would like to shoot in the North American Longbow Safari in July, and it has that rule.  I have a three piece longbow that I like very much, but no go.  I had a Toelke Whip, but sold it years ago and have regretted selling it ever since.  So now, in order to participate in the North American Longbow Safari, I have a new two piece Whip on order.  Oh well, good excuse to buy something I wanted anyway.

I have both,and they are quite different. The one and two piece Buffalo are a smaller riser. The three piece is heavier. I can post pics if you like.

I have had three 1 and 2 piece Buffalo bows.I have had one 3 piece buffalo bow.

The 3 piece I had was made quite a few years ago when he 1st came out with it.I think he redesigned the 3 piece Buffalo since then.Pretty sure.If so I have not shot the newer version.Which I assume is an improvement if he changed a few things about the design.

I liked my one piece bow and 2 piece more personally.Your mileage may vary.

You could add some mass weight to the one piece or 2 piece by choosing G-10 or phenolic if offers that option.The other option you have would be to add a quiver to the 1 or 2 piece.I like the Selway slide on 4 arrow for that.Fits super tight and adds some mass weight without being too heavy or unbalanced on the bow.I liked that quiver on my hunting bows and for 3-D.

Last but not least is to discuss with the Bowyer Big Jim and get feedback from him.

Here you go Phillip. The first one is actually a Thunderchild,but you can see the take down. It is a little heavier than the one piece.
