Shooting bows 60" and longer is all I've known.  When I started shooting trad 12 years ago, I went with a 60incher because everything I read pointed to short bows not being as accurate.

I recently moved down to a 56" bow and really enjoy the way this bow's draw cycle feels.  My draw is only 27.5" and the limbs seem to peek, not really what I'd call stacking, but I can tell they are at the end of their draw cycle at my 27.5".  It gives "somewhat" a recognition of a draw stop and helps me be more consistent in my draw length which in turn helps my accuracy.  The draw is still smooth, but definitely has an end to it, unlike my longer bows.   With the shorter bow I also get the feeling that I'm wrapped up in the bow and getting everything out of it that's possible. It just all around feels better, not to mention being more handy for hunting IMO.
Anyhow, moving to a shorter bow has been a good thing for me.  It has actually helped my accuracy and just feels all around to fit me better.  Just thought I'd share my observations for you guys considering going shorter.

I know what ya mean.  I love shootin' my 46" Stalker.  It's like shootin' a good plinkin' gun.  Just point and shoot.  You do your part and the bow will do the rest.

SCATTERSHOT

I have found the same thing with longbows. I have shot Howard Hills from 70" on down, in the belief that longer is smoother. I have a 26" draw, and I find that a 64" Hill is just right. fast, smooth, and accurate. (The bow, not me!)

I just got a 54" Howatt Hi Speed that shoots well for me, too. There seems to be a perfect match for each of us, and I think I've found mine.
