I'm always looking for a better quiver system!  I have been carrying my arrows in a small bow quiver lately, and would love to get away from that.  I tend to cover lots of ground when hog hunting, and usually butcher the animal where he falls.  I have been using a bow quiver so that I can carry a fairly large pack on my back for hauling meat.  I use a Catquiver II for deer hunting because I usually hunt from a stand, and don't hike as far.  Are the larger Catquivers set up the same as the CQII, as far as the straps are concerned?  Could I haul 30# of meat in one for several miles without the straps pulling out of the frame?  What are your thoughts?  Thanks.

Marty, the 3.5 should serve you just fine for what you are looking for. Another thing that you may consider is the mini cat quiver that you can attach to the current pack that you are using. I have one of those that I don't use and would be glad to send it to you to see how you like it.

I appreciate the offer CJ, but I have tried one and couldn't get used to it hanging off the side.  I really like my CQII, but it won't carry enough.  If the straps are the same on the larger packs I would worry about them.  I don't mind the bow quiver too much until I have to go through some thick stuff.  Seems like every branch or shoot gets caught between the bow and quiver!  I guess you and Ray made it home safely?

I have a CQ 3.5 and I don't think I would try to carry 30 lbs of meat or anything else in it.  It might actually hold that much but the straps accomodate a good hunting load (read that not 30 lbs) wouldn't be all that good for a heavy load.  I would be worried about bending the aluminum tubing.

The Cat 3.5 will not handle the weight.

Ditto what Joe said.  I have a 3.5 and went to a mini and a daypack or Badlands pack depending on the hauling needs.
