i am shooting a damon howatt recurve 58" 55# @ 28". does anyone have any opinions on what is the optimum distance from the bow tips to put the cat whiskers or any other silencer? thanks
Thick fog slowly lifts
Jagged peaks and hairy beast

Border black douglas recurve 70# and 58# HEX6 BB2 limbs

The best luck I have had with any silencers is to measure the distance between where the string first touches or leaves the limbs when the bow is strung.  Divide that distance by 3 and 4 and then place 1/2 of your cat whisker at each point.  For instance if the length between limb contact is 48 inches put 1/2 of the cat whisker 12 inches down from the contact point and the other half 16 inches down from that point.  These are harmonic points on the string and your silencers will be the most effective at these points.  That has been my experience regardless of the bow type or silencer.  Joseph
