We were shooting this morning, and my friend found an old arrow in the grass, while looking for one of his own.  Just for fun, he shot it at the next target we came to.  You can see the results....

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

So how did that magic arrow get lost in the first place? :bigsmyl:

Very nice "eye" to make such a great photo. Speaks a great deal in many ways. The creativity is appreciated! :clapper:

True, we were shooting from 40 yards, and the raggedy old feathers on that arrow didn't leave it far from being a bare shaft. Not sure how much good it will do him to know that the best tuned arrow for his bow is one that has sat out in the rain until it got waterlogged. Maybe he could leave his arrows in the bathtub for a few days before he shoots them?

Funny people get all worked up about spine fletch size etc...

There you have it.

Wudstix

Found an old hickory shafts on a 3-D shoot with about half of one fletch left.  Shoot it and it was the right spine.  Shot it for the rest of 3-D season until it found a large rock.  Christened it "3-D".

Fine camaraderie and entertainment was shared by that arrow.
