Introducing a young lady to archery

Last week while I was at my fire company meeting I was talking to one of the guys about teaching my son how to shoot his long bow. He seemed very interested and later asked me if I could teach his 10 year old daughter how to shoot a bow. I was pretty surprised but I accepted right away. I'm pretty excited to have another opportunity to introduce another youngster to traditional archery.She has a little sister and I still have my son's old 15# Martin Prodagy recurve.I thought why not get both girls shooting together.  Thinking I'm gonna need some 1816's pretty soon to set up for the girls. We are gonna start when the weather breaks and starts getting warmer. Should be in the next few weeks. I can't wait.

Vermonster 13 I know those shafts could be a bit stiff for that little recurve, but it's what I used to teach my son when he was 5 years old. I cut the shafts down to 25" and put a 100 Grain field point up front. They flew pretty darn well(better than those kiddie arrows) and he was happy that his arrows were sticking in my 3-D target at 5 and 10 yards. Anything to keep his enthusiasm and intrest up. I also have another bow that is 25 lbs at 28". That bow shoots those little 1816's better than the lighter bow. I'll probally let the girls use both bows.
