help with sharpen broad heads

hi everyone. i wool like to ask what you think about the accusharp. i wood like to shoot zwickeys but i cant sharpen anyting at all & will not hunt with out a sharp broad head. thank you.

The Accusharp works. Some guys(wisely) use 2-one that they put lots of pressure on to shape up heads and another for finishing them up with light pressure for perfect edges(The one you put lost of pressure on gets less effective in general and esp for fine finishing with use) I personally prefer files as both faster and more versatile. Nothing beats experience in getting things sharp but there are some excellent tutorials in the video forum to help you learn techniques.

I would go to thr HOW TO section just search sharpening broadheads. There is a fella "bowhunterinchile" that put a great demo on using a Lansky. I use it too and it's the only thing I can sharpen with.

I think the Accusharp does a great job on two blade heads like the Zwickeys.

Just be sure you get a real Accusharp and not one of the look a likes.

Frank, here's a tutorial that has helped quite a few archers. It will work well with a Magnus All Sharp, Accu-sharp or Smith's tool.

I use the Tru-Angle system on Zwickeys and Magnus. Pretty hard not to get them sharp with it. Most sharpening failures come from not being consistent with your sharpening strokes (you keep looking at it and changing the angle). The Tru-Angle cures that.

hi everyone. i am going to montana for a elk,my first time ever.i want to no if a 50 pound long bow wood have the power out to 30 yards to take an elk. i can shoot it will to 30 yards. thank you all have a great day.

I bought the Gatco knife sharpening system from Cabela's and really like it.It works great on knives as well as any 2 blade head.The best part....ANYBODY can put a razor edge on using it.It's simular to the lanski which I've heard is good too.The main thing for the sharpening challanged is to find something that will maintain the angle while your sharpening.There are a few good systems out there to choose from.

frank a 50lb is a little on the light side what arrows are you using how many grains do they weigh? what type of broadhead are you going to use and what weight? what is your draw length and how do your arrows fly??

all things considered great a 50lb longbow should be allright considering a perfect shot in the vitals!!

frank the hunter I'm sharpening challenged and just ordered 12 of the right wing Zwickey No Mercy single bevel heads.

I did it because of Ashby's reports and also , I've destroyed a lot of broadheads myself in personal tests, and the Zwickey held up better than all others.

That single bevel edge whould make sharpening easier, or at least I hope does
