5K or 8K rpm and why?

I can't find the DIY on the saws anymore in How-To, so I started looking on that popular auction site. Prices ranged from $69-275! Sees, aren't the Apple branded saws all the same?
My only hunch on the cheap ones is a CHEAP motor versus and quality motor on the $$$ ones.

Care to speculate guys? If anyone has that link to the DIY could you post it?

Gotta go make some arrows...........

Look at this design. It looks fairly easy to build and inexpensive.

Good luck.

This works great for my sitka spruce shafts. It's 7800 rpms would be fine for carbon or aluminum.

Yep....I bought the $20 Harbour Freight job a couple of years ago.  It does a great job on carbon and alum.  I don't shoot woodies but I reckon it'll cut those also.

As the folks above indicated, there are many better options fro less money. I purchased one  years ago for around $120 and was very disappointed with. Vibrated like a tuning folk. I sent it back.
