where is a good place to get some longbow blanks to build a bow

Dryad and Old Master Crafters.  OMC has some nice ones made out of exotics and clear glass for the same price as the Dryad bows...about $250.  They had about 8 of them at Kalamazoo.

Of course Dryad will also allow upgrades to bamboo and exotics/clear glass as well.
