Way to go Cody!  Giving of one's time and talent to archery is how I was introduced into traditional archery.  It is also how I pass it on.  Keep passing it on!  :clapper:

Hello Guys, I am back for helping the kids shoot.
Man That was fun. One young girl who never shot hit the dead center the first time she pulled back. And then with arrow number 2 the same thing. I think I will take the longbow in next week and show them how I shot the bow.
I just been working getting the contest Around for the the shoot off in two weeks

Great post, Cody.  I didn't shoot a bow until I was 39 years young.  You are providing those children with a wonderful opportunity to experience our sport.  I give you an A+!

Definately take your longbow. You'll be surprised how many kids gravitate toward it. Might surprise you how fast they learn to shoot it also. One interesting thing about teaching kids is the different ways they behave and react. With some, they obey the saftey rules and pay attention to everything you say, and with others, you wonder if they realize you're there at all. I've seen some miss repeatedly and still keep trying and have fun and others start crying if they miss their first shot. Never dull and extremely rewarding. Keep up the good work! Mike

Great job Cody!  :clapper:    :clapper:
Sharing our love for our sport is just as rewarding as enjoying it ourselves.  You have no idea how you might influence a young persons life with postive involvment like that.  You ignite a spark that may grow to a flame, and maybe keep them from some other less desirable alternatives.

Cody that's fantastic.  Realize you are now in a leadership position whether you want it or not.  Most schools today would happily expel an 8 year old for bringing his favorite toy gun he got for Christmas to school.  You have an opportunity few people get. Make the most of it and do our sport, the kids, and your school system proud.

LOL. I also have some high school Kids who want me to show them how to shoot. One kid told me he wants me to show them me shooting my longbow.
I think I will use my  eddings bow that is from 1950s with my old target arrows. The kids are shooting at 5m then they move back to 10m and then back to 15m. They have not got back to 15m.
That should be fun seeing them shoot that far.

Good job, Cody! I wish someone like you had been at the schools I went to when I was growing up. I hope you and the kids have a lot of fun at this archery thing! Have you noticed? Fun is contagious!

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.
