IDEA- tuned arrow chart

Idea here;

How about a thread with the specifics of everyones perfectly tuned setups? Having a "Master Chart" of what has bare shaft tuned perfectly for arrow selection would sure help eliminate some of the guesswork.

1) Detail the Bow (recurve/longbow/ weight/centershot riser?)

2)Arrow Mfr.,total weight, spine, length and point weight

I would start but I am struggling with this currently. A search turns up a few here and there....

That would be tough. Not all bows of the same make react the same for every shooter. The spine charts in place today give a good starting point. After that, you just have to find what works best for you.

How sweet would it be to have a database of say 500 "Tuned setups" as an accurate starting point?
If the Moderators here want to take this and run with it in whatever form they have my blessing.

I have to agree with Jerry.  To complicate matters further, I've seen the arrow flight from a few "perfectly tuned" setups!    
Any spine chart is just a starting point.

i like the idea.. i think it would probably help as much or more than the manufacturer charts..

make of bow, reflex/deflex longbow, d shape longbow, recurve, selfbow etc..

string material, weight at draw,arrow model, weight of arrow, length of arrow , point weight, size of fletch

shooting with or without bow quiver... and im sure theres a bunch more to consider...

braceheight, string silencers, nock height..split finger, three under

just some ideas to toss out when creating a chart..

What a great idea. There'd be a lot of columns on a chart like that. Longbow, recurve, arrow length, point weights, draw weight at certain lengths, That sure is a  lot of info to compile. We would probably need every member to contribute just to have enough raw data to make the chart capable of giving the reader at least a good starting point from which to start tuning their bow. It's a good idea but it's also kinda like reinventing the    wheel.

This is a sort of kinda thing that I am working on right now.  It is going to take some time, but I am building a data base in excel of ever arrow that I can find todays deflection on and converting it to the old AMO (still used wood) defection.  I am also putting grains per inch so one can easily see what a certain arrow at their spine needed would weigh.  How much you willing to pay to get all this info on a cd?

I agree with Jeremy. I too have seen arrow flight from someones perfectly tuned set-ups and a lot of time it has very much to be desired!! Shawn

ok, I'll give you some data that most would say is crazy, but it's  good for me.  I'm shooting 45#@28" Red wing Hunter recurve. I'm using a 30" 2216 with 200grn up front. I shot 10 rounds this morning with what I saw as perfect arrow flight. Hit the lid of a tin can at 20 yards each shot. I have also used a 31" 2016 with 145grn up front and had similar results from the same bow.
