Grip Wraps

For the shur grip I used warm soapy water. Worked like a charm. And thats on my predator.

I use the stuff that veterinarians wrap horses legs with and it only cost $2.50 for a 4" wide roll, cut to 1" smaller rolls and get lots for your money.  It comes in a variety of colors.

I had a Shur-grip on my Kanati, but I took it off. The matte finish on my Kanati works just as well without it. They are a bear to put on, but do help on slick risers. I put one on the Caddo I had because the gloss finish was pretty slick when I had gloves on. I also replaced the worn out leather grip on my Mahaska with a Shurgrip.

Bicycle innertube would probably work if you found the right size. Overheating or sweaty hands is rarely a problem here during hunting season. I never really noticed a problem with the shurgrip during the summer though for that matter.

Leather wrap works, but sure doesn't stay looking nice as long. I haven't tried the tennis racket wrap, but don't see why it wouldn't work well.

Yep go to Wal-mart & get the one called "what a grip".It's made to slide over the handle for tennis players & works great on bows...goes on alot easier than inner tubes or sure-grips & only cost about 2.00....they have several different colors...moisture will not build up on it at all...not matter how wet my hands got....

you can use pam spray oil to help put on the shur-wrap. shur-wrap is basically the same as a bicycle innertube. you can also use handlebar tape, like we all used to have on our ten speed bicycles as a kid. stuff works well for a bow grip

Tennis raquet tape works I had it on my old Bear. All my other bows had the sure grip and some are easy to get my widow I almost died getting it on but it can be done. I enjoy the grip for sweaty hands at the summer 3D shoots and gripping with my gloves in the winter.

I was going through a leather stores' renement pile and found some soft fexible leather. It is black which is what I wanted. I was told it was used to make chaps. It is not slippery in the rain or with my sweaty hands. I glued and sewed it on. I use it on both my longbows and so far (4 years) neither handle wrap has wore out or changed color.

I buy ultra-thin tennis raquet handle wrap from one of the local sporting goods stores. Baseball bat wrap works, but I find it adds more bulk than I like.

Tuck an end under then just overlap and wrap.  When you get to the top (or bottom if you prefer) cut the wrap at an angle and anchor it with a wrap of electrician's tape...

The best grip I found is beaver tail. It is natures Velcro.

I recently bought a Beavertail kit and plan to use it on one of my bows. I like the way it looks. I saw brown ones somewhere and have a couple of bows it will really look good on.It's very sticky, but I haven't washed it out yet. It sure looks good on Peckerwoods ACS!
