Cat whiskers won't stay on?

I've just started shooting my new DAS Elite target bow with Winex limbs and DAS string.

I can't get my bottom cat whisker string silencer to stay on.I've tied on two but after about 40 shots it has shot all the whiskers off.

The top one is no problem. It is far enough down that it isn't hitting my guard or anything.

First time I've ever had this problem but I'm shooting about 7 gpp at about 220 fps.Maby too much for this type silencer.

Any suggestions?

Shaun

You can put them on with a small nylon zip tie without spliting the string and can still move them up and down.

7 gpp is pretty light. My min is about 9 gpp and I hunt with 12/13.

Take the cat wisker new before its (seperated) rool it up and tie it with floss (i dobble the floss and twist it) leave floss ends long so you can tie to bow string, now unstring the bow slpit the string in half, insert one end of floss and cat wisker in to the bow string, restring bow. Now tie to bow string on first side now tie a dobble not on other side, leave about 1/4" tags after cutting floss and use a lighter to melt the ends of the floss down. They will last longer than your bow string.

Thanks for the help.

I know the arrows are light but it is set up for 3D not hunting. The DAS is rated to go as low as 6 gpp.

I separate the strands and put the silencers through.  Then tie an overhand knot in them.  I have never had one come off yet and they stay in position that way!!

I just started taking and old B50 string and cutting strands out and using a well waxed strand to tie the whiskers on to the outside of the string and I haven't had any troubles yet.
