Was wondering about the Das DALAA IS IT AS FAST AS other  BOWS is it a good hunting bow or is it a target bow

It's one of the fastest bows on the market and it's one of the best, if not THE best, hunting bow available. Personally, next to the higher end DAS, I believe it is the best hunting bow. It's greatest qualities are its shooting characteristics, however. It is incredibly smooth. We tested my dad's higher end DAS and it got a smooth 2 pounds per inch all the way back to 31", and that's as far as we tested it. That's from a 62" bow.
This bow also gives you the option to adjust weight and tiller for tuning adjustments, which is a great advantage, as is the ability to use an elevated rest plunger setup, or a specially designed SRF sight, stabilizer, or a number of other options. If you don't like the grip, you can just change it out.
I have gone all DAS on my bows now...you will not be disappointed in the Dalaa.

Other than the material which the riser is constructed of, what makes the DAS more of a higher end bow than the Dalaa? What features are included with the DAS which are not with the Dalaa? As I understand it, the DAS 17" riser is no longer being offered? Is this correct? Thanks.

I have shot 2 different DAS. They may be the best performing recurve I have ever shot.

The real key in the DAS bow and others that have followed is the fact that the bow shoots ILF llimbs. The better the limb the better it will shoot. ILF limbs, simply put, are the best recurve limbs on the planet. Various companies, mostly in Asia, make them so some folks have preferences...but most of the average archers out there will notice the difference in most ILF limbs and conventional limbs, but may have difficulty with  the subtle differences in the various ILF limbs available. Now that Bob Morrison is making his version of the ILF limb designed specifically for hunting things could get real interesting. Also, Sid at Border is making a hunting ILF limb that is available thru DAS Kinetic archery.

I sure like my Dalaa. It is a very well designed bow. It might not be the fastest or the best looking but it's overall shooting  qualities make it a very fine bow. It's quiet, quick and smooth drawing. An excellent hunting bow. There is nothing I'd rather be shooting than my Dalaa.

I'm just curious. how does a DAS compare to, let's say a Hoyt Gamemaster, other than the price difference?
thanks

There are a few differences between the two. The gamemaster is 4" longer and it doesn't allow you to adjust tiller. I don't know about the Dalla but the DAS hunter has holes that you can put a weight system in to adjust balance. Also the DAS and Dalla have multiple grips you can get. I have the DAS gen 1 riser with Samick extreme limbs and a set of Winex limbs and that is the only bow I shoot now. They make great hunting bows!!

The DAS bows wether the Dalaa or the Generation 1 or 2 risers are hands down the finest, most adjustable and configurable traditional bows you can purchase.

If your looking for a bow with the finest shooting qualities, and a bow with almost infinitable limb choices over the counter or in the second hand market(no need to rely on a bowyer) and where you can adapt the bow over the years as your shooting style and or grip requirements change then the DAS is a must have bow.

I had a Hoyt Gamemaster for a while, and found that I could not tune a bare shaft to shoot well off the shelf, although they shot well enough off an elevated rest.  Bare shaft tuning off the Dalaa shelf is no problem (although in fairess, the Dalaa shelf is somewhat elevated itself).

The Dalaa also comes with adjustments to move the arrow side plate in or out, which can be handy if the arrows are not grouping exactly where you want them, and the bow poundage can be adjusted somewhat, which is also handy for fine-tuning arrows.  Both bows have fairly inexpensive (or expensive, depending on what kind of limbs you want) extra limbs available.  I bought a pair of low poundage limbs for my Daughter-in-Law to shoot when they come to visit.  I don't think she appreciates what she's shooting; as far as she's concerned, it's just another bow.  But it was a lot cheaper than getting extra limbs for one of my Black Widows.

I got my Dalaa last May and I have not even wanted to try another bow since. My Dalaa is THE bow for me.

The adjustment on the DAS is useful to tune but it's real use is to adjust preload on the limbs so that any draw length can get the best performance. If a guy that draws 31 inches trys one that is set up for a 26 inch draw he isn't going to like it very much.Same for a short draw guy shooting one set up for a long draw. But with three different limb lengths and the adjustability, the Dalaa can be set up to fit anyone.

A lot of times a guy orders a custom and waits nearly a year only to find he doesn't like the bow.It may be tillered wrong for his style or the grip may not feel right. The Dalaa can be made to fit anyone with it's different grips, adjustable tiller and wide range of limbs available.

It is as fast or faster than most top bows. You can shoot as low as 6 grains per lb for things like targets and 3D or as heavy as wanted. It is very quiet even with light arrows.

The are the best recurve I've found, period, end of story!

I have two Gen 2 risers and a Dalaa and six pair of limbs between the three ranging from 46# to 65# at my draw length.

So, the Dalaa from 3Rivers is the only one available right now, with the exception of the 21" Elite riser from Kenetic Bows?

I read recently that a camo 21" riser will be available from 3Rivers and possibly a complete bow package, very soon. Right now, I don't think they have any for sale of either style. Are there any used ones out there?
