greenhorn double recurve limbs

Paul,
Wapiti recurves have a similar "Double Curve" like those limbs.  I believe the design goes back even further, but you'll have to consult with one of the old timers or historians on that.

Legolas, do a search for Bill Stewart or multi cam.He made them in the 80's I think.Everything I have read say's they are shooters.

Greenhorn bows are, by most accounts high performing bows.  With the exchange rate, they are very expensive bows.

Are they the top of the line?  don't know, but would suspect that but what I've been told, the higher level Borders are excellent as well.  Also, by all reports Bob Morrison's new ILF limbs are excallent as well.  When you get into ILF limbs, there are the Win&Win, Samick, Hoyts (maybe) and the excellent Border limbs.

Stewart was the reall innovator with the Multi-Cam. Got to shoot one some years bcak, will try to pick up one up some day - this bow was a great shooter.

As to the issue of the recurve standing with a compund, some can, with some older model compounds.

Probably Blacky Swartz, if he sees this has some direct knowledge of the Greenhorn's and ahs shot some of the better performing bows currently in production.

They may be fine limbs but I remember a post on another forum where someone bought a set and got a few shots before they blew apart.

Any limb can fail and I don't know what kind of stress was put on that set.Do a lot of research first before buying a set.

Bob Hit built a limb similar to that one in the 60's

Greenhorn sold this limb design in the 1980th as "Jaguar Limbs" - available for their top-of-the-line bow named "Safari". I had a special interest in it, but never the money to get me one.

Bill Stewart produced a similar limb - and I own one of his Signature T/D bows. The FD-curve of this specific Stewart bow was a disappointment. It offers a smooth draw - all right - but energy storage is longbow like and performance as well. Right now I don't know who was first, Greenhorn or Stewart.

I have no experience with these Greenhorn bows. I can't tell if there is any thruth in what they claim to offer. But from comparison with my Stewart I would say: a different look - nothing else.
