I have a 47# 65 Kodiak that I have shot 2016's out of forever (B50 string, of course). Started tossing some GT's 3555's and getting teriffic flight and got the bow tuned to the point that there is just the slightest string hummm on release. Have you folks seen any damage to your vintage bows shooting the lighter weight arrows? I really like this combo but don't want to risk loosing the Kodiak.

What's the mass weight of the arrows JL?  For years we shot target recurves with arrows abour 6 to 8 grains per pound of draw weight.  I seriously doubt you will hurt the bow.

I wouldn't be too concerned unless you're shooting the 3555's with really light tips. At 8 grs/lb you'd have to be shooting an arrow under 365 gr. and unless your carbons are really short or you're using 100 grs. or less up front you'll probably be above that.

I shoot GT3555 with 125 grains out of my 56 Kodiak Special, shoots great, and real quiet.  I've shot up to 175gr on the same arrows using the same bow and no problems. Arrows are right around 29 inches BOP.

I have been shooting the lighter carbons (35/55 GT with 125 gr tips with a total weight of about 400 gr.) from my 46# 1965 Kodiak for some time with no problems.

Thanks for the input. I'm shooting a 30" 35/55 with a 125 gr head. I would guess my arrow is around 400-425gr's or so. It's a good shooting combo and glad to hear it won't stress the bow out.
