Watched the video on lone wolf website where the sticks mate with the bottom of the alpha platform. I plan on getting an assault. If the assault is 3" shorter, how do the sticks attach? Thanks, guys.

Mark, I'm going to bet, that they don't.  at least not the way the video shows, as you are right, it would be too short.
However, I have the alpha, and I end up bungey-ing (is that a word?) to the stand, anyway, for tight security.  Works great.

The sticks mate up just fine with the platform.  There is a molded recess for the V-bracket to sit in.  The sticks might hang off a little, don't really recall.   It packs up nice and tight.

I have the Lone Wolf Climbing Sticks & the Alpha hang on.  This sticks seem to match up to it really nice.

My question is, how many sticks do you use on the average.  Right now I have three Lone Wolf climbing sticks.  I can get the average of 12 to 15 ft., but I do like to have about 1 1/2 ft. to 2 ft. above the platform, so I'm stepping down to it.  Are you using 4 sticks to do that, I think it's much safer that way.

Thanks

The sticks do mate up at the tree side of the stand, just under the seat swivel. I use 3 sticks and get about 17 foot with 1 foot above the platform. I do spread them out quite a bit from each other.

No need for 4 sticks, 3 sticks will do ya' most of the time.  If you need more height, get some heavy duty rope and attach a large loop from the bottom V-Bracket to give yourself an extra 'rung'. Usually I just hang this off the bottom stick and place that stick a little higher on the tree.  I don't mind reaching a little on the first stick.

While we are on this subject, I've gotta say that I feel this stand is the finest portable I have ever used.  I got one for Christmas this year, and LOVE IT.  It's super light, and the easiest stand to carry and hang that I have ever used.  They are not cheap, but well worth the money in my opinion.
