I am new to take down bows and am expecting one in the mail soon. I doubt it will have instructions or a manual so I have a few basic questions:

1. Are the limbs marked "top" and "bottom" or does it make a difference?
2. How tight do you tighten the fastening bolts or screws?
3. Does it have some kind of washer or seals?
4. Are most risers the same length and if you order replacement limbs, do they need to be the same length with different weights, or can they be shorter?

The bow is a Bob Lee hunter, 64" and 54# @ 28"

Anything else I need to know just starting out?

Thanks
Morrison Shawnee, Longbow Limbs- 47.5# @ 28 1/2", 45.5# @ 28 1/2"

1. Are the limbs marked "top" and "bottom" or does it make a difference?

They are not generally marked explicitly as top/bottom but there is normally text on one or both of the limbs which will allow you to easily identify which is bottom and top.

2. How tight do you tighten the fastening bolts or screws?

Don't over do it, just enought to give a snug fit without damaging the wood.

3. Does it have some kind of washer or seals?

Some do some don't.

4. Are most risers the same length and if you order replacement limbs, do they need to be the same length with different weights, or can they be shorter?

Generally most risers are the same length and the different lengths in the bow range is done via the limb length.
