I have had snow on the ground all week, and the temps have been in the 20's. Snowed a little every day. Last week I had deer all over me, now I'm lucky to see a track. Since the weather change, the deer on no where to be found. Today was sunny and calm, so I thought I'd make the best of it and get out a bit. As I said, not even a track across the 97 acres. I did find Coyote sign and decided to give them a try. I called in 4 different dogs, but no shots. I was getting busted at 50 yards. The squaller really brings 'em in fast. Found this den while searching the cliff.
I also enjoyed the scenery

Then i hiked back to the trad mobile and split.

Only a few more days left.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

Up here when the snow builds up and the cold winds start blowing the deer seem to stick close to the cedars.  Cedars provide food and thermal cover.  After our first dump of snow a couple weeks back I noticed they stopped wandering through the open hardwoods.

Jerry great pics thanks for sharing. This is  the time of year where we gotta find a food source and a sunny side of the mountain.Keep the faith and good hunting. In January you can come over on this side of the Delaware!

Yep, hit the south east portion of your property and look there.

Not a deer track on the whole property.   :knothead:  But I liked the coyote action.   :archer:
