Lol - what the heck?!

"Hey Bob - what's that disgusting looking black mung growing out of the bottom of that tree there?"

"Beats me but I'm gonna eat it!"

Looks like fun.  Didn't any white stuff follow that north wind, to create some tracking opportunities?

David,  Sounds like a Nice Day with your son.  From previous posts Hunter is really growing up.  I hope I can make it to the JLMBH this year.  Anyone know the dates?  Doc

Up here we get a growth that looks real similar to that on the Birch trees.  Is it a real pithy, cork like growth?  I don't really know how to describe it.  However, break a small piece off and see if it will burn.  The stuff up here can be lit with the spark from a BIC lighter that has no fuel left.  Pretty amazing stuff.  Also starts very easy in a fire piston.  Worth checking out.  If it is the same stuff, real handy to have in your possibles bag.
