I have one of Mike's quivers, and it is quiet, as it crushes just right around my back, stopping the arrows from rattling.

Not trying to take away from anyone, but building one is pretty simple.

You may think to get onto Schulz's page and read up on some info about back quivers and their designs to get a better idear how long of a quiver to make for you or whom  you are building it for.

I have one of Mikes back quivers, mine is a med hunter. The leather is real high quality as well as the workmanship. It is well thought out, quiet and it looks great. My son has one of his youth quivers that is similar to the hunter, we love them.

I have made several back quivers and will tell you that they are not easy to design. The one mikes leather is showing looks like it has all the right stuff. Especially how it is soft enough to hold the arrows and keep them from rattling. If I had bought one of his right from the start I would have save myself a lot of time and money.Looks like a really good quiver I'd buy it.

Here are two quivers I made. One for my Daughter and one for me! It is real simple....I have never worked with leather, and didn't use a template. Fun too!!!!

Ian,  There are a lot of great leathersmiths here on TG and deals and Tenbrook is correct it is fun to make your own, one of my favorite things to do is working with leather and beading.

I will whole heartedly say that Mike's leather is worth the $ and is a perfect functional and comfy design with quality leather and should last you a lifetime and can still hand it down....
His work is all hand stitched and his prices are well below the quality and time that goes into them. He knows his stuff and is a wonderful gentleman to deal with, you will not be disappointed.

Mike, How does it perform in the heavy brush that I encounter here in the Norhwest?

mike g

Scrapper....
That would depend on how you walk thru the brush.
When wearing a back Quiver and you incounter Brush, you grab the quiver by it's bottom and bring it up to the football carry position and walk thru the brush....When you exit the brush you push it back into position....

Ian,
Check with Larry  at Lost Nation Archery.  He has one for $75.00 (item # Q618)  I have the older version of this one and its a nice back quiver and very well made.

I hunt real heavy brush here in western NY, I use the football style carry that mike suggests and i have no problem at all. I have never had an arrow fall out.
