Howdy yall, well trapping season has started for us, and i usually get some pretty interesting critters(black coons, 1 stripe skunks, double "v" yotes, etc). My bro and I would like to make a quiver from one of the critters we trapped-be it coons, skunk, fox, yote, beaver etc- but where do you start? we would like the mask and tail on the quiver itself if at all possible. Does anyone know of a buildalong that explains this? we would really appreciate the help.
pintail.

I remember being at a 3D shoot and a fella had a skunk quiver....once he staarted sweating....well you get the idea it was a skunk.

However I don't see why you couldn't use Rob's plans. I've made several using his plans all came out nicely.

Seems like there was a good article on just this thing in a fairly recent Primitive Archer magazine.  You may want to look at their website and see about ordering a back issue.

That is the niceist quiver I have ever seen and looks very easy to make and the  quivers are so expensive from archery stores and online stores. I am going to make one soon. thank you very much for the plans.

thank you for the link. Will that convert easily to make one out of a yote?
Anyone have pics?

If I was making the quiver out of a coyote hide, I would use Rob's plan, and lay out the the 'tube' of the quiver centered along the spine, with the tail at the bottom. I would remove the mask, and sew it on the top edge, so it folds over the lip and "looks" out.
Of course it all depends on how big your coyote hide is.  Also, depending on how thick the skin is, I would consider lining the quiver to prevent any "poke throughs".
Bear in mind that I haven't actually made a quiver this way.  I have made several back quivers using this basic pattern and veggie tan, and latigo leather.

If you Google "fur quivers" you'll find some good examples of what I described above.  I guess that's where I got the idea.
I didn't see them in the sponsor list, so I won't list the websites.
