On the way out today i took a look by my wifes horse and saw a ton of deer sign that has showed up in the past week. I know they travel there but now it looks like there hanging out with the horse   :bigsmyl:  I have been hunting on the ground but i have real good spot near it to set up my blind without getting busted. But i do have a treestand hung there, looks like I'm taking to the trees for the first time this season, first times a charm.

When I used to horseback ride, I could always get close to the deer in our fields while riding. Didn't spook em till I was real close.
Eh, heard of guys creating lifelike replicas of cattle to hide behind in order to get close to pronghorn out west. Maybe some sort of horse-like version of that is in order...  :bigsmyl:

Went in the tree tonight by the horse. I heard a deer running but didn't see it, then awhile later i had a nice doe come trotting by right under the stand by the time i got the bow ready she had stopped were i couldn't shoot her  all the while she was looking back. I thought Buck! about a half hour later i heard some deer running and here comes a nicer doe with a buck in hot pursuit. He ran her by me six times in range but she wouldn't stop were i could get a shot but he would, no buck tag    :banghead:   He brought her around one more time and when she was good and close i grunted with my mouth she stopped dead in her track broadside at ten yards. The only trouble was her vitals were behind the only tree in the way    :biglaugh:

Also seems like a Cherokee or Turkish horse bow is in order...
