Had a carbon arrow blow on me today.  The lucky part is, my bow seems okay, and all I got out of it was a nasty bruise on my bicep.

Here's the stupid part:  Was shooting some long shots in the yard, just for kicks and grins.  Had my little block target sitting on a plastic, outdoor table.  I shot a low one from about 45 yards, and hit the lip of the table.  The arrow, a CX Heritage 150, stuck through the table, right up to the fletching.  Well, I pulled it, and THOUGHT I'd looked it over good for damage.  Didn't hear any telltale cracking sounds when I'd pulled it, and the shaft looked fine.  My big mistake was not paying enough attention to the back end of the shaft.     :readit:

But is your bow OKAY!

Glad you are alright.

I had a wood arrow blow on release once. The string hit my upper arm, almost at my shoulder. It was an old target arrow that had been shot hundreds of times. I now try to check my arrows carefully but some defects can't be seen. I guess it is part of the sport. Now, any arrows with defects(cracks or dog teeth marks, etc) are immediately broken and put in the kindling pile.    Pat
