G'day fellas,
I have ordered a Toelke Whip 65# and I am looking to make up some carbons with high % FOC. Are there any whip owners out there that run similar poundage?
I was thinking of some Black Eagle Rampage 300s and going with the heaviest head/insert combo I can bareshaft tune.
Thanks,
Memo.

Tedd

You didn't mention your draw length?
Those Black eagle .300s are stiffer than other .300s. Too stiff for my 63@30" Predator recurve. Even when I really load up the front. In comparison I use .300 Three Rivers shafts and they are just right.
Bummer because I got 2 doz of the black eagles. They are really nice quality shafts.

I used Beman 340's worked fine for me. Dan has info on new heavier shaft that can reduce FOC somewhat.

Hey guys,
Draw length is around 28.5 inches. Thanks for the heads up Tedd on the thinner shafts acting stiffer.
Jim & Lone hunter, I will send Dan an email for suggestions.
Thanks fellas,
Memo

9 Shocks

I've had a few whips. Mine liked a slightly lighter spines arrow than what I was expecting.
60" Bivouac Backland ILF longbow 42@27
58" Schafer Silvertip recurve 47@27
58" Primaltech Longbow 45@27

My Whips also like very weak spines.  I'm shooting 42 pound and it likes .670 and .700 w 125 up front.  You might try 400s...

I draw 56@31 on mine and it's the first bow I've owned that would shoot something weaker than a .340 or .300 spine, so I expect you will need something weaker than a .300. A full length .340 or cut down .400 is my guess

Various bows, but if you see me shooting, it's probably a Toelke in my hand!
