Anyone shoot a 3 piece Stewart Slammer?

Never had one but I did shoot one a few years ago. It was a bit heavy for these old shoulders but it was nice. I liked the low grip it had and it was fast and almost silent. I would buy one at my specs in a heartbeat. But I really don't need another bow.......lol

I have owned a 3 piece Stewart Slammer since 2011 and I have no complaints about it.  That bow has never given me any issues. The craftsmanship is amazing.  I shoot my 3 piece Slammer better than any other bow that I own.

Just picked one up off the classifieds here. So far, I really like it. Mine has the 16" riser with an overall length of 64" and it pulls very smoothly to my 28" draw. Very comfortable grip and points well. Pretty quiet even with a FF string. Not as quiet as my hill style longbows but quieter than most recurves. I love the radiused shelf and center cut riser. Noticeably faster than my hills; seems as fast as my custom recurves and faster than my vintage recurves. Good mass weight with the 3-piece. Nice bows.

The reason I won't let Mike shoot it is he will drool all over it and make a mess LOL.  Seriously  I love my  3 piece Slammer.  It's plenty fast, extremely smooth, quiet and puts the arrows where I want them.  I've been shooting my Slammer exclusively since I got it that my other bow is becoming a dust collector.

Bob, you won't go wrong with a Stewart 3-pc.  I have Leon's 3-pc. and a 1-pc., both are 64" long and 45 .lbs.  They both shoot tight groups, draw smooth, with very minimal hand shock.  Quiet = Yes.  Of course, the 1-pc. is more quiet, but I enjoy shooting both of them.   Definitely, keepers for me.

Leon makes a very nice bow.  I have shot his 3 piece and owned a one piece.  They compare wth most of the top bowers out there.

Sweet bow I looked at them for a few years at ETAR, but I never shot one. Things changed this year I shot a few of  his bows and I placed a order for a 3pc td longbow with a 14" riser making a 64" bow 45lbs @ 28. Its gonna be a long 6 months but im excited.

I met Leon a few years ago at ETAR. We stay every year at the same house/hunting camp of a mutual friend. Leon is a standup guy and a heck of a craftsman. I spent some time at his booth this year and looked over his bows. His workmanship just keeps getting better. I had a LH 3 piece in my hand but it was too much weight for me to try.

In my opinion you can't go wrong with any of his bows.

my buddy and his wife shoot them, me personally I didn't like how the grip felt but honestly I never gave it a chance to see if would end up molding to my hand I think they say.  

I know my buddy originally bought one because he has a 31 or 32" draw I forget and Leon is one of the only people that could guarantee the bow..  woods are AAA no doubt and he has killed a few deer with it so its a meat maker.

now a little off the subject but where I said I didn't like the grip that was the 3-pc they also have 1pc bows and those are much more my preference in a grip,, and again I didn't order these so maybe they are molded for my buddys hand I didn't ask.

I highly recommend his bows.

My go to bow!  Leon is a top notch guy and tremendous craftsman as well.  I shoot the 3 piece
and numerous friends of mine have a one piece or a slammer as well.....Heck, it was all I could do to not order one at ETAR last week.  Couldn't make up my mind on wood combos....Leon said, "just come down to the shop and pick out what you want"....SO, I will be making the trip to Coatesville in the not so distant future!!!

I have had three of Leon's bows. Leon's three piece is my favorite longbow,so far, and I have shot a bunch. Smooth and beautiful. I don't feel any hand shock with a 450 grain  arrows out of a 45# 3 piece. Did I say they are beautiful? There are so many great looking bows out there but this one is special. In the end though, finding your favorite bow is like finding the perfect spouse. If YOU are happy with it, or her, that is all that matters.

What arrows do u shoot with your 45lb bow? I ordered a 64" 45lb 3pc myself at ETAR. I would like to try some wood arrows, Im new to wood arrows myself.

The 450 grain arrow is a 29" Carbon Express 150 with a 145 grain field point. It also shoots  the following well at my 28 " draw:
30 1/2" Gold Tip Hunter 500 with a 145 grain point;
30 1/4" Carbon Express Mayhem 250 with a 175 grain field point and a 29" cedar, spined at .615 (about 42#)with a total weight of 470grains.
I use a tab. If your draw is 28" these should get you in the ballpark.
