Whats your favorite non glass bows? Post pictures and tell us about it.

For me it's my English longbow from ravenbeak natureworks. Yew heartwood belly and backed with bamboo in a way it looks like sap wood. Blue lapis arrow pass and a hemp cord wrap done by myself. Reflex when unstrung with very skinny tips.

72" 48# @ 28" Fast and smooth for an all woodie.

I have two selfbows. An Arvin Weaver Osage that is 47@29, and a Rob Green Osage that is 48@29.

Here is a couple pics of the Rob Green:

There are some beautiful bows in these photos!

Ari, what are the tips of your bow made from?  Also, does it have double nocking slots on the tips?

Best wishes,
Frank

Awesome guys keep them coming !!

@Learner
If I remember correctly they are buffalo horn and yes it has double nocks for the string and stringer the top one is a tad more subtle but it works.

I don't know if this is cheating, but this is my favorite all wood bow.  It is an English war bow replica made by John Strunk out of a yew stave, with horn tips.  It's too heavy for me to shoot anymore, but it sure does look good above my fireplace!

Technology....the knack of arranging the world so that we don't have to experience it.

That is a sweet looking bow McDave.

72" yew bow John Strunk made for me in 1989.

Here is the yew wood bow I made and shot my first bull elk with this year. Wood bows dont get the respect they deserve, because anybody can make one and it takes years of experience to make the really well. This results in a lot of selfbows out there that don't really impress. Not to say a selfbow on the slow side isn't completely capable of getting the job done. That is also the beauty of them. Anyone can make one using simple hand tools, and each one you make is better than the last, as your experience grows, so does the beauty and performance of your bows.
Some top notch bowyers featured above.

That is some really pretty yew Carson81.

I have an all wood laminated Kolomi from Lynn Harrelson and a yew ELB from Jack Keener. Both are good bows.
