A while ago I decided to paint and crest some arrows. I used a spray can of Kylon paint. I used fletch tite platinum. The feather fell off most of the arrows. I even lightly buffed them with 600 grit sand paper and wiped them down with alcohol.
Is there some clear I can put over them to get things to stick?
Thanks

I would suggest either Duco glue or fletch tape.
Did you use denatured alcohol on the quill and shaft?

Is it just the fletching coming off or is it the layer of paint coming off? I use superglue and have had that issue where the paint under the fletching comes off. I have found that using that 600 sand paper on the shaft BEFORE painting solves that problem. Good luck.

Fletch Tite Platinum works best with Bohning Fletch Lac paints. Lac as in lacquer. The spray paint you used is not lacquer. I know some guys swear it doesn't matter but it does!
I have sprayed shafts using the same stuff you used. BUT after I crested I brushed on waterbased polycrillic. Same stuff Bohning sells in little bottle but I bought a can.
I have not tried the platinum glue on the polycrillic yet. Reason being sometime ago there were isssues with the glue and I changed to Saunders NPV glue and have not looked back.

Maybe the Huron Bows you build are just too dang fast!   :bigsmyl:

Platinum is not compatible with Krypton. As suggested, Fletch tape or Duco. I use the tape with a dab of Duco at each end, still shooting some arrows that are 10+ years old.

How about gorilla super glue.  I have gone from wraps to krylon and my initial finds are that fletch tite and gg superglue will work for me--- time will tell...

the rifleman

Whoops--- meant to say the fletch tite held at first, but then pulled off.  The gorilla glue is holding up after a couple weeks-- I can't pull those feathers off.

Try loc tite gel, no more problems. period...

Prairie Drifter

I use gorilla super glue gel. No problems on any surface, painted, wraps or bare shaft, carbon, wood and aluminum.

I'm having really good luck with Gorilla gel and the fletching tape...
