Kinda interested in them, do they have some sort of string retention or just go on the string like a self nock?

Been using AAE z nocks but them just keep shattering over and over. They do say you need to use their glue because others aren't compatible but I have enough glues as there is.

Also interested in bohning T nock.
Other options?
I use a 4 fletch so I would prefer one without an indexer.

The original Stotler nocks as Hill used were better with fat strings on heavy longbows.   Unlike the old Sanp-ons that you could just leave hanging on the strings, the Stotlers would not stay.  If the string was thicker, the Stotler would fit snug and come off the string better than most other nocks with the same kind of fit.  I would be concerned with dry fires if they do not have a snug fit, as they are a challenge to manage at times.

I have some, I tried them on my HH style bow I had. I was not real happy with them. The throats seemed to shallow and  after a dry fire or two I quit using them.
But to answer your question, no they are not "snap on" type.

I tried them years ago, didn't really care for them.Like said the throat was too shallow for me and too easy to have a dry fire.I preferred the old Mercury nocks, alot deeper throat.

Same here.  Tried them, didn't like them.  Went to Bohnning Classics when the quality of Mercury nocks went down the tubes.  Heard they got better, but have a big supply of Bohnning nocks
