Saw 2  really nice bucks with nose to the ground chasing a doe. Too far from my stand to shoot so I got down and still hunted them. Several times I was within 35 yards.  Too far for my comfort zone. We did this off and on for over an hour. The passed within 20 yards several times but the bucks would veer off at the last second.  The frustration and the thrill.  Maybe tomorrow

Sounds like a great time hunting .

Looking forward to these next few days.  I took vacation Thursday and Friday!  Headed down to Greene County property!

I grunted in a buck on Monday afternoon.  I had some scent in the air and he didn't seem to notice.  I hope it's still good next Tuesday up here in northern IL.

Had a couple smallish bucks chasing anything brown on saturday! Starting to see lots more movement.
Good luck from a fellow southern Illinoisian!
