So my wife tells me today she is buying me a bow for my b day. One hour later I found out I won the mango vaneers on the z giveaway. 1+1=heck yes! Thanks to Idaho curt as he is sending the vaneers directly to Mike from Maddog. Gonna be one sweet bow. The wait begins.

It should be a beauty with the mango in it!!

Congrats on your first custom!

Congratulations , the waiting is the best part . It's like being a kid again waiting for Christmas .

Congrats, have you decided on a riser wood yet?

Tradcat

Cocobolo would be a great riser choice as well as Chechen

going to have to let us now how it turns out. I have been thinking about getting a shorter pred pretty much since I got my 60"er

I wonder how short you can go with a 26-27 inch draw

I talked to yesterday Mike and he seemed to think that 56 was right about perfect for my draw.  I actually just placed the order form in.  Truth is I really have been dying for a short bow, but I was not ready to go 52" short.  My other long bow is 64 inch and my recurve is 58 so I think this is a nice medium.

Lol!    :clapper:

I have a 58", a 62", and complete access to a 60" prairie predator. Out of them all the 62 is the best feeling bow. Not taking away from my 58" osage/black walnutbow at all though, Its quite a bow. The 62" is smoother to draw, and seems so much less poundage, when in fact they are within a pound of each other.

Petrichor

I was really tempted to go 62. Something in me was wanting to make it very different from my other 64. Gosh I hate decisions like these.

Can't wait.  Most of the prairie predators you see are relatively plain, with nice but not overly fancy riser woods and colored glass.  It'll be a treat seeing one really dressed up.  Definitely one of my bucket list bows.

How is the draw stroke and general feel compared to your longer predators?
