*Don't shoot your computer

When I first started hunting I wanted a deer to pose for me and wait for me to shoot it. Unfortunately deer don't do that. Being able to anticipate a deer's movements and deciding when to draw, where to aim and when to shoot is a skill learned over time.

I put together some deer footage so you can brush up on your skills for the upcoming deer season. Watch the clips and decide when to draw, where to aim and when to shoot.

I agree some of them were no shoots for me too. I'm not good enough to shoot a walking deer or some of the steep quartering shots.

Another good video Scott. I'd have to pass on a number of those shots myself.

With most of those there were shooting opportunities, if you had about a one second shooting tempo and anticipated it properly.

I do not only hunt deer...that is one reason I like to shoot Technohunt some just before hunting season (started here yesterday)...of course I can not only decide when to shoot I can then actually shoot and see where my shot hit the animal...this is a great confidence builder

Enjoyed the animals! Part of bowhunting is having the ability to pass on low percentage shots. A bowhunter is a wildlife watcher far more then a bow shooter. Honestly, there were only very few of those deer id have considered high percentage shots. Who knows what will happen if you wait?

Thanks for that Scott. As a beginner hunter, I find it helpful. I saw maybe twice I thought "maybe now!" - but I don't know even with those if my shot sequence would have been fast enough.

Glad I practice letting down. I guess I'm still where you were, where I hope the deer will stand broadside (or close to it), a little inside 20 yards, and have it's leg forward and head down feeding. For more than a few seconds.

I'm not counting on filling my freezer this season, but I'll be out looking.

I dropped them all. But I was using my 270.  Ok with a bow maybe half. I get buck fever bad so most would of left before I could draw. Really cool woods you have to play in.
